Welcome to the
Two Bears
web site featuring the adventures of
November 8, 2014
Tammie and Paul went to
Lancaster County, PA without us! They didn't
stay for the night, so we spent the day in our waterbed. They met some of Paul's friends from college and
their families at the
Cherry Crest Farm
Corn Maze. Then off to
Dienners Restaurant for dinner.
October 26, 2014 to November 2, 2014
Vacation in
Williamsburg,
VA. On the way there we stopped in
Midlothian, VA to have lunch with our cousins and their family.
We stayed for a week at
Greenspring Resort. While we were there we
took the free
Jamestown-to-Scotland (VA) Ferry across the
James River. Using the
ferry to cross at that point is much
shorter than driving to the nearest bridge.
October 3, 2014 t October 5, 2014
Another trip to
Lancaster County, PA. We met Gram and Pap at
Shady Maple Smorgasbord, then we went to
Sight and Sound Theater to see
Moses.
August 6, 2014 to August 11, 2014
Cousin Rebekah was swapped with Cousin Anna. Anna a teenager who likes to relax and not do much. She's more
bear-like than our other cousins.
We went to our 7th creamery on the
Maryland Ice Cream Trail,
Broom's Bloom Dairy. Now only one creamery left!
August 1, 2014 to August 6, 2014
Cousin Rebekah was visiting for a few days. She wanted to go to
McFadden Art Glass, which she likes to do every year when she visits.
We're still trying to get all of the creameries on the
Maryland Ice Cream Trail, so we had to take
her to a couple of them. Our first stop was at
Prigel Family Creamery, then we found a nice restaurant to eat at, then on to
Kilby Cream. Since we were so close to Delaware, she wanted to go there. We stopped by
a "Welcome to Delaware" sign and she got her picture taken. Then we made a U-Turn and came back home.
July 4, 2014 to July 11, 2014
Another vacation! This time a Royal Caribbean cruise on
Grandeur of the Seas to
Bermuda. As we left Baltimore, we passed
Fort McHenry, which is by the
entrance to
Baltimore's
Inner Harbor. During the
War of 1812 there was a battle in
Baltimore's Harbor on September 13-14, 1814. During this battle
Francis Scott Key wrote the song
The Star-Spangled Banner.
Since we left Baltimore on the
4th of July, there was a small party on the ship for the Americans.
The cruise was fun and relaxing. One day we ordered room service, and we had several towel animals visit us during the week.
Bermuda is a beautiful place (although it can be quite hot during July). Our ship docked at the former
British Royal Naval Dockyard on
Ireland Island for two nights. One day we took a taxi to
St. George's, then took a ferry back to the ship.
The last day we were there Tammie and Paul went helmet diving with
Hartley's Undersea Walk Bermuda. Tammie and Paul seemed to enjoy themselves, but
the helmets were claustrophobic for us. We also thought it might be a bit too damp for us.
While we were in Bermuda we found our
200th Geocache,
GC2TRH8.
June 22, 2014
We were on our way home from
Pennsylvania (after taking Cousin Lozetta home)
and decided to stop at some creameries on the
Maryland Ice Cream Trail. Our first stop of the day was at
South Mountain Creamery, then we stopped at
Rocky Point Creamery. As we were driving through
Hagerstown, MD we saw a blimp in the distance. As we were leaving
South Mountain Creamery we saw it again.
Then we saw it a third time east of
Frederick, MD
on our way home from
Rocky Point Creamery. If you look closely you can see
Snoopy from
Peanuts.
June 15, 2014 to June 20, 2014
Cousin Lozetta was here from Pennsylvania for a few days. She wanted to go to
Autobahn Go Karts and race!
When we took her home, we had to stop at a creamery on the
Maryland Ice Cream Trail,
Misty Meadows Farm Creamery.
May 23, 2014 to May 26, 2014
A short vacation in
Lancaster County, PA, where there is a large
Amish community. We met one of Paul's high-school friends and
her family at
Shady Maple Smorgasbord, one of our favourites.
We stayed at Beiler's Guest House in
Paradise.
April 27, 2014 to May 4, 2014
Vacation! We were finally able to get away from the house for a week so we could relax and see some new country.
We went with Gram and Pap to
The Historic Powhatan Resort
in
Williamsburg, VA
(map).
We didn't do a whole lot there, mostly just laid around and relaxed.
